EchoSens Project
– See how stiff the fabrics are… without making a mistake
Ultrasound elastography measures the stiffness of biological tissues, replacing the doctor’s palpation. However, in practice, images are often distorted by artefacts caused by reflections and wave diffusion in the different layers of the body.
Objective: to understand the origin of these artifacts and develop models and algorithms to analyze them… and correct them.
At the heart of the project
- Simulation of ultrasonic waves and shear waves
- Realistic modeling of heterogeneous biological tissues
- Analysis of reverberations and diffusion
- Development of signal processing algorithms to improve elastograms
