Encouraging civic involvement
Reconciling civic commitment, autonomy and academic success is a challenge that ESEO helps to meet. For students, this year the school launched the “Engagés tous ensemble!” scheme, which enables students to find an assignment with an organisation that suits them, in the service of the community.
” We encourage our students to become innovators. By getting involved in local associations, local authorities, the military or civil security institutions in projects with strong human, civic and social values, they contribute to the common good,” says Frédéric Huglo, Managing Director of ESEO.
Under the scheme, students will be able to take part in three types of activity:
- A voluntary action with a social, solidarity, educational, ecological or civic dimension within an entity labelled by ESEO and the sponsors of the operation;
- A public body working to ensure the safety and protection of people and property in the region;
- A civic contribution during the academic year.
“For a student, commitment is the best form of practical training, ” concludes Hubert Cospain, President of ESEO. This is an important aspect of ESEO training, which emphasises personal development and the acquisition of softskills during engineering studies.
